About Us
Who We Are...
Greatness in the Kingdom is not measured by how many cars, houses or stuff I possess; it's measured by how I treat those who are less fortunate than I am, those who will never be able to repay me for what I give.

My name is Shirley Gattis and I have devoted the past 20 years to pursuing my life-long passion of helping hurting women and children. I have earned a masters degree in counseling and education. I have also earned degrees in early childhood development and psychology. I have spent over 600 hours pursuing continuing education training in subjects that range from trauma, to brain development in infants, to fetal alcohol syndrome and everything in between. As a retired veteran I have travelled the world and now consider Arizona my home.

I learned early in my professional endeavor in working with the hurting that people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. As a licensed pastor at my local church I consider it an honor to fulfill the highest calling which is being a servant of Jesus Christ. Love is universal and crosses all racial & socio-economic barriers and it is my first priority to express this type of love to every family that steps through the doors of D.O.V.E.

Mental health has become my passion through the years in working with the hurting. Healthy minds produces healthy individuals and healthy individuals produces healthy families and healthy families produces healthy communities.

Let's build together, one family at a time!
